Proprietor Alan Mair said:  “I decided to launch Angus Home Services as a local small business in 2019, primarily because I grew tired of the same mundane day in, day out routine and missed the variety of a working day, that I enjoyed in the Royal Navy.  I’ve always loved meeting new people and working in a ‘hands on’ capacity, so placing both of these together gives me my ideal job with the variety that I love.

We operate a customer focussed business and are always open to receiving your new suggestions and ideas, in order to improve our service to you even further. As an ex-serviceman, it is my company’s policy to support both serving members and veterans of HM Armed Forces to the best of our ability by offering them discounted service rates.

Benefits of upskilling

Whilst business has been pretty much non-existent during the lockdown period, I was fortunate in having undertaken a Velotec training programme in bicycle maintenance and repair just prior to the onset of the pandemic.  This gave me the idea of adding another arm to the business and with the assistance of Angus Council’s much appreciated hardship grant for newly formed self employed businesses, I have been able to significantly progress this avenue.

We now have a full mobile bicycle repair service, where we can travel to you and conduct on site repairs, in addition to our workshop where we can conduct every operation from replacing brake blocks, to our selection of complete servicing procedures.  Thanks to the kindness of many Angus families, who donated unused bicycles, we are currently transforming these into ‘as new’ condition, when we will be offering sales and trade-ins also, but at more competitive prices.”

Great customer reviews

Alan went on to say: “We believe that our customer’s reviews and recommendations are by far the best method of advertising.  Indeed we have undertaken much new work which has been the result of word of mouth recommendation.”

“We found Angus Home Services very reliable and attentive. Alan listened carefully to what we wanted and offered suggestions; whilst taking into consideration our tight budget. His communication is excellent, he is punctual and very hard working. A tradesman of great integrity who we would recommend wholeheartedly”.    (K and A, Dundee)

“Used Angus Home Services to wall mount two large TVs on extendable brackets. Alan is very personable, professional, and does whatever possible to ensure the job is well done. Have already recommended to friends!”
